This is something very different from me, and vastly different from my normal style, but I have to give credit where credit is due. I’ve decided to call this piece “Tresses of Pure Light”.

Amazingly talented professional photographer, consummate outdoorsman and longtime childhood friend since middle school/junior high Brian Merry (follow him here!) gets all the credit for this bit of inspiration that he dropped on me last month while we were knee-deep in the snow in Banff National Park. The night before he was showing me an absolutely gorgeous piece of his art that he had for sale in large format for his high-end clientele and it led to me trying this, which I’m quite happy with. Looks like hair, but is actually frozen bushes in a snowy meadow at mid-morning, photographed with some specific camera settings and camera movement with a long shudderspeed.
